Cannabinoids

CBD + CBN describes a formulation that combines cannabidiol with cannabinol, a mildly psychoactive minor cannabinoid, usually positioned for nighttime.

CBN is rare in fresh hemp and forms as THC oxidizes, so in a CBD + CBN product it is generally added as a purified ingredient. The combination is common in evening-oriented hemp products because CBN has a reputation connected to sleep. Each cannabinoid is reported separately on a certificate of analysis, along with the THC result.

Small controlled studies have examined CBN itself for sleep, and separate research has looked at CBD, but combination findings should not be attributed to CBD alone, and CBN findings should not be assumed to carry over to the pairing. Evidence for the combination is early, and there is no approved medical use. Pet owners may see similar pairings marketed for animals; a veterinarian should be consulted with questions about a pet's rest or behavior.
