A cannabinoid profile is the measured breakdown of which cannabinoids, and how much of each, a plant sample or product contains.

Laboratories generate the profile by running the sample through chromatography, typically HPLC, and reporting each cannabinoid as a percentage by weight or in milligrams per unit. A typical panel includes CBD, CBDA, THC, THCA, CBG, CBC, and CBN, with extended panels adding more. The profile is a core part of a certificate of analysis and is the document that backs up a label's stated potency.

Reading a profile lets a person compare what a label claims to what was actually measured, and confirm the THC figure, which for products formulated without it should read 0.0% THC. Profiles differ by batch, so the batch number on the packaging should match the report. The same document exists for pet products, and a veterinarian may find it useful when a pet owner asks about a product's contents.
