Kalila's Sleep Was Interrupted, Now It's Solid – Blue Sky Ventures

Sleep issues presented another hurdle in Williams’ pursuit of wellness. She tried the usual suspects – herbal teas, meditation apps, even counting sheep – with limited success.

"I was that person who would wake up at 3 AM and stare at the ceiling," she admits. "When you're exhausted, everything suffers – your work, your relationships, your motivation to stay active."

Her solution turned out to be surprisingly simple: a calming cup of tea and a swipe of Sleep Balm on her neck and feet before bed.

"My husband teases me about my 'magic potion,'" Williams smiles. "But he can't argue with the results. Now I actually bounce out of bed in the morning."

Speaking of her husband, the avid cyclist has adopted many of Williams’ wellness practices himself. Together, they make the most of Colorado’s outdoor playground—hiking with their dogs and exploring local parks when they’re not working.

"We’re both pretty competitive," Williams confesses. "But we’ve learned that supporting each other’s wellness actually makes both of us stronger."

When asked what advice she’d give to others struggling with work-life balance, her response is as practical as it is encouraging:

"Start small," she suggests. "Find one thing that makes you feel better physically, and build from there. When your body feels good, everything else follows—your mood, your energy, your whole outlook on life."

For Williams, that philosophy has turned what could have been competing aspects of her identity into complementary parts of a richly textured life.

"Some days I’m more ‘healthcare Kalila,’ other days I’m more ‘fitness Kalila,’" she reflects. "But really, they’re both just me, trying to live my best life."
