Linalool

Linalool is a floral, slightly spicy terpene alcohol best known from lavender and present in some cannabis and hemp chemovars.

It occurs in hundreds of plant species, including coriander, basil, and birch, and is widely used in perfumery and flavoring. In hemp it is usually a minor terpene, though certain varieties are notably higher. Terpene panels report it by weight, and it contributes a soft floral note to whole-plant extracts.

Linalool is not a cannabinoid. It has been studied in laboratory and animal models, but there is no clinical evidence that it changes what CBD does, and synergy claims remain unproven. As a fragrance ingredient it is a known contact allergen for some people, which is worth noting on topical labels. Pet owners may find it in hemp products for animals, and a veterinarian can advise on any ingredient concern.
