Bisabolol

Bisabolol is a mild, floral terpene alcohol best known from German chamomile and also present in some cannabis chemovars.

Chemically it is a sesquiterpene alcohol, which is why it sometimes appears under the name alpha-bisabolol on ingredient lists and lab reports. Outside of hemp, it is widely used in cosmetics and skin-care formulations for its scent and skin-compatible profile. In hemp, it is usually a minor component of the terpene fraction rather than a dominant one.

Its inclusion in a cannabinoid product is mostly a formulation and aroma choice; there is no established clinical link between bisabolol and how CBD behaves. Evidence for its own biological activity is largely preclinical and drawn from cosmetic science rather than cannabinoid research. Pet owners may see it in topical products marketed for animals, and a veterinarian can advise on whether any ingredient is appropriate for a particular pet.
